Action is a screen and camera recorder for Mac. It is built so your recordings stay yours.

01Who we are and what Action does

Action ("the app") is developed by Vyakran Objects Design Pvt. Ltd. ("VOD," "we," "us," "our"), NCC Meadows Phase-II, Yelahanka New Town, Bangalore, Karnataka-560064, India. This policy explains how Action handles your information and applies to the Action app for Mac.

Action records your screen, your camera, or both, with an optional teleprompter, live captions, cursor effects, and background music. Recording, compositing, editing, and file storage happen on your Mac. The app works without a VOD account or sign-in.

02Information we do not collect

VOD does not collect, store, sell, or share personal information through Action. Specifically, we do not:

• Create or require an account.
• Include analytics, telemetry, or usage tracking.
• Contain advertising or advertising identifiers.
• Track you across other apps or websites.
• Upload your recordings to VOD, an Action account, or cloud storage.

Apple may process audio for speech recognition, Apple processes purchase information through StoreKit, and Freesound receives ordinary network-request data when Action downloads an optional music track. Those limited cases are described below.

03Where your recordings live

Recordings are written directly to a folder on your Mac that you choose in Settings. Action does not automatically upload them. Deleting a recording in Action removes that file from its saved location, but copies or backups you created elsewhere are unaffected. You control where files are stored, backed up, and shared.

04Permissions and how they are used

macOS asks your permission before Action can use the following. Each is used only for the feature it enables. You can change any permission at any time in System Settings › Privacy & Security.

05Speech recognition

When you turn on captions or a voice-driven teleprompter mode, Action submits microphone audio to Apple's speech-recognition framework. Recognition may run on your Mac or macOS may send audio to Apple for processing under Apple's privacy policy. Action does not require on-device recognition. VOD does not receive the audio or transcript; Action uses the transcript locally for the feature you selected.

06On-device language features

Optional script drafting uses Apple's on-device Foundation Models framework on supported Macs. Talking Points uses local language analysis to match what you say with your list. VOD does not receive your script, points, or model output. Availability depends on your Mac, macOS version, language, and Apple Intelligence settings.

07Payments and subscriptions

Action Pro, an optional subscription, is sold and billed through Apple's In-App Purchase system. Apple handles your payment details and Apple Account; VOD does not receive or store your card details or Apple Account credentials. StoreKit provides the app with signed product, transaction, and entitlement information needed to complete a purchase and determine whether Action Pro is active.

08Background music

Action includes a curated royalty-free music catalog. Tracks bundled with the app play locally. If a selected track is not bundled, Action may download it from Freesound. That request reveals ordinary network data such as your IP address to Freesound and its delivery providers, subject to Freesound's privacy policy. Action sends the track identifier needed for the download, not your recordings, scripts, transcript, camera, or microphone content.

09Children's privacy

Action is not directed at children. VOD does not knowingly collect personal information through the app, or through the website's support form, from children below the minimum age required by applicable law — for example, 13 in the United States under COPPA, or a higher age set by your country's implementation of the GDPR or other local law. Cloudflare may process website request data, and VOD may retain information voluntarily provided in support emails as described above. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us and we will delete it.

10Website

The Action website does not use accounts, cookies, advertising, analytics, or tracking pixels. It is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare processes limited technical information, such as IP addresses and request metadata, to deliver and protect the site under Cloudflare's privacy policy.

If you use the support form, you provide your name, email address, topic, and message. Cloudflare processes the form request, Resend delivers the message, and Zoho hosts the support inbox where it is received. VOD uses this information only to answer and document your request. You can instead email support@actionrecordapp.com from your own email service.

Cloudflare, Resend, and Zoho may process or store this information outside your country, including outside the European Economic Area or United Kingdom. Where that applies, such transfers rely on the safeguards those providers offer, such as standard contractual clauses.

11Third parties

Action relies on Apple's operating-system services for capture, speech recognition, on-device models, and payments; Freesound for optional music downloads; Cloudflare for website hosting and form processing; Resend for support-form email delivery; and Zoho for the support inbox. It includes no advertising networks, analytics SDKs, or third-party tracking SDKs.

12Your choices and rights

Because VOD does not receive your recordings or app usage data, we generally have no app data to access, correct, export, or delete on your behalf. You stay in control:

• Manage or revoke any permission at any time in System Settings › Privacy & Security.
• Delete recordings yourself in Action or manage the files in Finder.
• Choose and change where recordings are saved in Settings.
• Manage or cancel Action Pro in your Apple Account's Subscriptions settings.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights under laws such as the GDPR, the UK GDPR, the CCPA, or India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 ("DPDPA") to access, correct, or delete personal data, and not to be treated differently for exercising them. VOD generally has no app usage or recording data to identify or return. We may retain information you send through the support form or directly by email as needed to answer and document your request. Contact us to exercise an applicable right. If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

13Grievance officer (India)

In accordance with the DPDPA and applicable rules, VOD has designated a Grievance Officer to address privacy complaints from users in India:

We aim to acknowledge complaints promptly and resolve them within the time required by applicable law.

14Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with an updated date above. Material changes will be reflected in a future app update.
